WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BUILD WITH GOD—NOT FOR APPROVAL BUT FOR ALIGNMENT

Imagine being invited to come to work with your Dad, who isn’t just an awesome, patient, and precise teacher, but also a master architect and builder of not just houses, but all of creation.

No, Really ... Imagine with me for a moment:
Your Dad knows exactly what the outcome will be, what it’s for, and why it matters. You’ve only seen a few snapshots of the idea, and you don’t have any special skills that qualify you. The only thing required? An invitation, and your yes.

THERE HAS BEEN A STUDY OF YOU.

He saw this before you were created. He knows who He made you to be and what is tucked inside of you in seed form. He has waited, nourished, and called forth this place in you, and now He’s excited that the time has come.

Because He is a good Father, His first priority is love and safety. So He waits patiently for you to grow, to demonstrate a level of maturity that shows you can listen and follow without deviation. That you are not impulsive (for your protection), and for the protection of others who will also step into this build. Before the invitation comes, He tests to see if you are mature enough to handle it.

When that invitation finally arrives, your mind starts to race. You wonder, you imagine, you ask a million questions like kids usually do. But Dad only answers what you can handle. He gives just enough for you to step forward. And then He waits for your yes or your no. (Because maybe is still a no.)

There are things you can’t bring to the site. There are things you must carry in with you. No degree or certificate is required, but safety gear, trust, and obedience are non-negotiable.

And so the decision comes again: yes, or no.

HOME IS A TRAINING GROUND FOR KINGDOM IMPACT

Once you step onto the site, you stay close to your Dad. You listen carefully. You obey His word.

You measure, frame, pour, and build the way He shows you. He’s the expert, and you’re the apprentice.

You don’t get to run off and do your own thing. Not if you want to build something safe and lasting.

Your Father hands you tools, teaches you as you go, and checks every piece to help you lay it straight. He provides every resource, every material, and every piece of gear. But here’s the thing... they’re all connected to Him. You can’t use them apart from His presence.

Without His instruction, the build becomes dangerous, to you and to everyone around you. But with His guidance, even when you mess up, He’s right there: “Let’s pull that nail out and try again.” He does the heavy lifting. He carries the weight. He makes sure the masterpiece gets finished.

Psalm 127:1 (Unless the Lord builds the house the builders labor In vain)

And when it’s done, you don’t just see what you built. You see what you built together and you are confident it is safe and secure.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

• Have I been more concerned with the approval of people than alignment with God?

• What “tools” or “safety gear” do I need to put back in God’s hands instead of running off on my own?

• Where is He inviting me to say a clear yes instead of lingering in maybe?

• Am I showing maturity in my obedience, enough for God to trust me with the next invitation?

THE KINGDOM BUSINESS OF HOME ISN’T SMALL. IT’S STRATEGIC.

This isn’t just about a worksite. It’s about motherhood. It’s about home. It’s about business.

Every dish, every load of laundry, every routine, every late-night prayer, it’s training ground for building with God.

Can we fold laundry with Him?
Can we raise toddlers and teenagers with Him?
Can we create businesses that flow from His blueprint?

Yes. Because Kingdom building doesn’t happen separate from home. It happens through home.

REDEFINING PURPOSE THROUGH GOD’S LENS

Purpose isn’t about chasing titles. It isn’t about building for applause.

Purpose is saying yes to the invitation to align to the purposes of God.
Purpose is walking in obedience with your Father.
Purpose is identity and alignment with your original design.

And when you build from alignment, you no longer need the the applause or approval of anyone else.

Why would you? If you’re doing what you see your Father do, if you’re obeying what He tells you, then He has already approved.

You will move from the need for human validation to being aligned in the expression of your original design in intimacy and partnership with God - ALL of who He is
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Savior, Lord, and Sovereign King and everything beyond.

KINGDOM CONNECTION + INVITATION

That’s what building with God feels like for me.

It’s been about leaving behind what doesn’t belong and putting on what He requires. It’s been about hand-holding, questions, gentle correction, and encouragement. It’s been about revelation confirmed in Scripture, seeing people like Noah say yes and build something world-changing, not because they were qualified, but because they were aligned.

It’s also been about rest, taking naps in Dad’s lap, being given water and food, and having joy in the process.

Just like when I was a little girl in my earthly dad’s studio build, that he built from the ground up, he would let me carry small bricks or pieces of wood. He let me feel like I was helping, even though he and the big guys did all the real work.

At the end, he’d still say, “My kids helped me build this.” And to this day, he means it.

That’s how my Heavenly Father speaks to me too: “I’m proud of you, look at what your obedience produced in the earth.”

And that’s enough. 

It is not lost on me that many haven’t had a present dad or a good dad, but this is still your reality if you receive it and lean all the way into it, surrendered. You are never too grown for The Father God raising you as the Good Daddy that He is. 

Go to work with your Dad and build with Him in every area of your life.
