WHY FINDING YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF CAN SEEM HARD

WHEN WE FIND OURSELVES QUESTIONING

There are many times when we find ourselves questioning whether we are living up to who we truly are. It's easy to feel like we need to constantly try to fit into someone else's idea of who we should be. Truth is, identifying your authentic self seems hard because so much of our society tries to tell us what we are supposed to be or do.

For example, social media can be a powerful tool for promoting self-love and self-esteem, but it can also be a breeding ground for comparison and pressure to constantly look a certain way. And as mothers building homes and businesses, it can make us feel like we’re falling behind—when in reality, we’re just trying to stay aligned with Heaven’s pace.

ACKNOWLEDGING REALITY

You may see friends and influencers post their highlight reels of their lives and think, "I wish I could be that happy." But the reality is, what is for them is for them, and it doesn't take away from what God has for you. It's okay to not have everything you want right now. Your pace is holy. Your design is divine.

Another reason identifying your authentic self can feel so challenging is that society often tells us that we're not supposed to be our true selves. We are constantly bombarded with messages about how we should act, think, dress, and feel. Sometimes this can lead to feelings of confusion and even fear about who we truly are.

But here’s the truth: you are uniquely made in the image AND likeness of God. Recognizing and embracing your authentic self is the path to aligning with that reality and experiencing a more fulfilling life. Especially as a Kingdom mom, your authenticity doesn't just free you—it sets a generational standard. And the treasure of who you really are will blow your mind once you let God introduce you to you.

WHEN YOU ARE TRUE TO YOUR DESIGN

When you are true to your original design, you are more likely to feel confident, secure, and in alignment with your values and passions. That’s where you’ll begin to understand PURPOSE. Not just in motherhood. Not just in business. But in the unique way both flow together through your life.

MORE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS WITH OTHERS

Living in accordance with your authentic self can lead to deeper connection with others and a greater sense of self-worth and joy. And those connections become anchors—not just for you, but for your children, your marriage, and your mission.

So, don’t be afraid to step outside the box of conformity and find the person truly inside of you—the YOU that God created, wired, and designed with intentionality and Kingdom purpose.

FOUR SIMPLE BUT IMPACTFUL ACTIONS TO BREAK FREE

Stepping outside the box of conformity is a bold and beautiful move toward embracing your authentic self. Here are four simple but powerful actions to begin breaking free from societal expectations and live more aligned:

1. Reflect and Reconnect: Take time to reflect on your values, interests, and passions. What makes you feel most alive? Spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal the unique aspects of your design. Intimacy with God is the mirror you need—He knows who you really are, and He is excited to reintroduce you to the masterpiece you’ve forgotten.

2. Embrace Your Uniqueness: You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Whether it’s your quirky humor, deep compassion, or strategic mindset, those things were never random. They’re part of the blueprint He gave you to parent and build from a place of wholeness.

3. Set Boundaries Around Comparison: Comparison is an identity thief. Limit exposure to what makes you question your enough-ness. Create a digital space that affirms the you God created. Your path, your pace, your purpose—none of it is up for comparison.

4. Seek Supportive Communities: Find spaces where you are seen and supported. Whether it's a local church, a Kingdom community of mothers, or your ComeUnity®, surround yourself with people who remind you who you are in Christ and encourage you to walk boldly in it—at home and in your assignment.

REMEMBER THIS

Breaking free from the box of conformity is not always easy, but it is incredibly worth it. The reward is clarity, confidence, and the joy of being in full alignment with the you God dreamed into existence.

As you take these steps, you’ll find yourself living more aligned with your original design, making Kingdom impact in your children’s lives and through your creative work. This isn’t just about authenticity—it’s about walking in authority as the woman, mother, and builder God appointed for this season.
